Star Wars: The Evil Within progress report
Monday, May 23rd, 2005 - So... we get to Keycon and set up our
gear. Adrienne Silver from the A-Channel was there with cameraman to
interview Clayton and shoot our sound check. The footage was supposed
to air at 6:00 pm and 11:00 pm on News @ Night on Sunday, May 23rd.
They did end up showing a very small snippet of Baz playing the intro
to Star Wars on his guitar. We were a litte disappointed that they
didn't show more.
The Uballi Groken Hospitality Suite was on the main floor beside the
elevators. Homestyle brew was available for $2 a bottle or you could
buy a plastic cup for $6 and drink for free all night long! Things got
off to a slow start as many Keyconers were busy upstairs at the social
and slave auction. We played for a little while and people came and
went. We decided to take a break to check out the action. Many of the
members decided to watch The Rocky Horror Picture Show until 4:30 am
and so our set didn't really get started until then. All of the night
owls, including some very attractive slaves, entered The Uballi Groken
Bar and didn't leave until 7:00 ish. What goes on behind closed
doors... stays behind closed doors!!!
As for Star Wars: The Evil Within, the DVD was never released 'due to
technical difficulties'. Not sure what the plan is now, but we'll keep
you posted.

Keycon 22 Sci-Fi Fantasy Conference @ the Radisson Hotel Downtown (poster). Clayton Stewart, Creator, Director, and Producer of Star Wars: The Evil Within attended another 2-hour panel presentation about the making of the film and soundtrack.
Monday, March 21st, 2005 - Well, it's over! The premiere that
is... it didn't go as planned, but these things happen... some
technical difficulties prevented Clayton from rendering all of the CGI
in time for the premiere. He handled it with class however and all of
the folks that came out to see the movie were very understanding and
did like what they saw of the movie. What was done, was very good and
an indication that the finished product will be great!!! Our scene was
put together well... we are happy that our original music made its way
into the film and we had the opportunity to appear as the band in the
bar scene!!! It was a blast!!!
Monday, March 14th, 2005 - TAP and members of the cast and crew
appeared on the Big Breakfast this morning from 7 to 9 am. We got
dressed up as the alien rock band Deev Nool and performed Dagoonda, the
song we sing in the movie. Check out the feature track section for more info. We also played a few new tunes.
We met at the theatre tonight to preview our scene! It is great and we
are very excited!!! You really do want to see this movie. Cool is the
word!!!
Monday, February 28th, 2005 - Had a meeting with Clayton and
Ward tonight at the Regal Beagle. Everything is on track for the
release on March 19th and 20th. The press release is going out
tomorrow!!! Here we go!!! Also, Sweet Spot Productions confirmed our
appearance on the BB on Monday, March 14th from 7 to 9 am.
Monday, February 21st, 2005 - We are currently writing the
original score for the movie. We hope to have it ready for the DVD
release which has yet to be announced. We'll keep you posted...
Well it's Clayton's b-day today and Hal Anderson from Power
'97 is throwing him a party at the Big A at 1975 Portage Avenue!!! Why
not come down to the bar for a few beverages and meet the
Creator/Producer/Director of Star Wars: The Evil Within in person.
Can't guarantee what shape he'll be in however!!!

Star Wars: The Evil Within, Uballi Groken Bar Scene Shoot @ the Graffiti Gallery, 109 Higgins Ave.
The shooting of our scene went well. The set was decorated with works
by local Winnipeg artists. Baz and Brad were in character and Cory
Toews did a fantastic job on our makeup. We'd like to thank Darren
Charron for sitting in as our drummer!!!
